Winner, winner, chicken dinner! The race on RoadBikeRides is over and I'm the winner of the Orbea Orca!
I'm not sure yet on the particulars on the prize, all I know at this point is the value is set at $5,400. I'm hoping I get to use Orbea's made to order web app to put the bike I want together.

Oct 31, 2008 at 6:46 PM Faaan-TAS-tic! I love the looks of those bikes. Quick, correct the spelling in the headline!
Nov 1, 2008 at 4:03 AM Thanks for the heads up Ray, I missed that in my excitement! I'm going to go down to http://www.AustinBikes.com/ today and ride one.
Nov 2, 2008 at 7:22 AM Hey Mike, Congrats! It occurred to me that there's a nice symmetry here -- you like to climb hills and if I recall correctly Orbea is the bike that the Euskaltel team uses in the Tour, and they're generally the best team in the hills. So, a perfect fit!
Nov 2, 2008 at 8:07 AM @Randy: Thanks. I'm might head out for a trip around Volente Loop, maybe a down and back. You up for it this afternoon?
Nov 2, 2008 at 2:41 PM Hey Mike, saw your post late in the day, but instead of posting I decided to hop up and try to intercept you on the off chance you were still out. I went down to the waterpark and back on Lime Creek. Actually had a funny three sisters moment -- I did #1 and #2, then heard some motorcycles coming so I did a couple of 360s in that left driveway on the ledge between hills 2 and 3. After the bikes went by I started up 3 and was startled to have something immediately on my back wheel. It didnt go by and I thought it was a third motorcycle pacing me up. Halfway I glanced over my shoulder and saw it was one car and 3 trucks-- all joining me at 4 mph. So that was my "all in" moment and I knew I had to power to the top -- no pressure there!
Perhaps we can synch for next Sunday?
Nov 2, 2008 at 3:05 PM @Randy: My Uncle came up so I wasn't able to get away today. I don't think I'll do the Wurst Ride, I'm not a big fan of one way rides, but I'd be up for a down and back to Volente.
Nov 10, 2008 at 12:31 PM Congrats!
