Recap for May 2009

May 31, 2009 · 4 Comments

A couple days ago I looked at my mileage for the month and my jaw dropped. Without going out of my way to put up big numbers I was looking at going over 800 miles for the month, which would be my highest mileage for a month. In the end, for May I ended up with 834.43 miles. Another number that surprised me a little was the amount of climbing I did. For the month I climbed 30,549 feet, which beat my previous high by about 2,000 feet. I guess riding 2 centuries this month contributed to the high number.

Training Stress Score (TSS): 3170
kJ: 32838

Kind of makes me wonder if I could do 1,000 miles in a month. Sounds like something to give a shot sometime.

Nice, real nice. With the addition of the 1000 miles in a month goal, you're piling them up faster than I can track them! I'm still stuck on the cross-country goal concept...

That's awesome Mike. 1000 miles in a month seems like it would be easy for you. I am totally impressed with 800+, that is a lot more than me. I did my 160 this weekend but I know I didn't come close to 215 miles per week for the rest of the month. Way to go!!

By way of comparison, I had my highest mileage month ever in May, with 354. I can't imagine doing 800 in one month.

Thanks guys, I had been averaging in the 600 miles a month and my previous high was last July with 700. Two centuries helped out plus commuting for a couple weeks.
