Chris Carmichael is itching to ride with me, he's sent me 2 emails asking me to ride with him. The first email I got from Chris was asking me to ride with him in the MS150 from Frisco to Ft. Worth. Then again today, he has invited me to ride with him, Bob Roll and Steve Madden in California this time.
I suppose he's heard how fast I look in my Carmichael Training jersey and wants to see my riding skillz first hand. It would be a good ride to also break out my Fatcyclist.com socks that showed up in the mail today (along with a FatCyclesist.com t-shirt and water bottle). The ride sounds really fun, there are a couple dates I can choose from:
Ben Serotta will be on hand and provide a one-on-one discussion of the perfect bike fit. He'll also have a "fleet of Serotta road bikes" to test ride. Just what I need... To spend 4 days riding around California on a $7,000 bike. This would lead too 2 outcomes, me trying to either sneak away with it tucked in my luggage or me trying to explain a $7,000 charge on our credit card statement to my wife. Either way I'll be in trouble. Plus if I do somehow come away without a Serotta taking out my Fuji just won't be the same. We both won't look at each other the same.
Looking at the dates it just might not work out, I'm scheduled for recovery weeks during both of the sets of dates. That just won't work out, but if somebody else wants the chance to ride with Chris and has $2698 for the 4 days. The they can have my spot. Of course if Chris or someone wants me to go that bad and pays my $2698 then I guess I can go and just deal with my Fuji when I get back. Go here to sign us up and get more information.

Hopefully my Fat Cyclist stuff will be waiting for me at home! I'm guessing this is the free shirt and bottle he was giving away?
Mar 27, 2008 at 9:39 AM Yeah I took advantage of Fatty's generous offer of free stuff and snagged a t-shirt and water bottle. Since I was paying shipping I had them throw in a pair of socks. More on that in an upcoming post...
